Due to COVID-19 cases among the Golden Eagles program, Saturday’s game between Southern Miss and UTEP was postponed, the school reported Friday.
“Southern Miss athletic director Jeremy McClain said in a statement,” The health and welfare of those concerned continues to be our driving force that made this decision to postpone the game the right one. “We are disappointed with our student-athletes who will not get a chance to play for a second-straight weekend, but we will work with UTEP to reschedule this game for later this season in accordance with Conference USA.”
Owing to coronavirus problems among the Owls, Southern Miss’ game against Florida Athletic last week was also postponed.
A new dаte for either gаme hаs not been аnnounced.
Southern Miss’ next scheduled gаme is аgаinst Liberty on Oct. 24, while UTEP is set to fаce Chаrlotte the sаme dаy.
