Many spectators in Paris had big expectations for G2‘s European side, who were only one game away from winning the Worlds 2019 and completing the first-ever grand slam in the League of Legends competition.
Unsurprisingly for the European team, following Invictus Gaming‘s victory in 2018, FunPlus Phoenix managed to get the best of them on the day, completing the dominant 3-0 sweep and keeping the Summoner’s Cup in China.
Ocelote made his way to the stage in an interview with Sjokz after the awards ceremony had concluded, and thanked all the fans for joining his side.
The G2 Esports manager seemed disappointed with the loss as the camera panned away, but after collecting himself, he congratulated FPX for their success in the grand final.
“I’m very proud of аll the fаns who cаme here or supported online, the plаyers, the support stаff, аnd mаnаgement, everybody worked so hаrd to get here, it wаs аn unbelievаble yeаr.” He expressed, before becoming overcome with emotion.
