During his father Jayson’s playoff run, Deuce Tatum quickly rose to the top of NBA Twitter. The Boston Celtics star’s son dominated the post-game interviews and the affection of NBA fans all over the world. But even at this young age, Deuce Tatum’s father is making sure his son understands the harsh truths of life: “Nothing comes free.”
Sadly, Deuce was made aware of this during his dad’s kids’ mini-camp this offseason. During shootaround, the senior Tatum seduced his son into feeling a false sense of hope. The senior Tatum can attest to what it’s like to be ignored in the NBA. His Celtics team advanced all the way to the Conference Finals in his first season there. But after that season’s success, the team found it difficult to return to that round of the playoffs. The Celtics wouldn’t return to the ECF until 2020 at the earliest. Tatum had to wait five years before making it to the NBA Finals after making it to the ECF in his first year.
The Celtics are nоw fully prepared tо return tо the Finals next seasоn and exact revenge оn their оppоnents. But there’s drama waiting in the wings.
