According to Fox News, the American Massage Therapy Association will hold its annual convention in Cleveland later this month. It goes without saying, but given the Deshaun Watson drama, this is a rather unfortunate situation.
Earlier in the offseason, Houston Texas traded Watson to the Cleveland Browns. The contentious quarterback has dealt with claims of sexual assault against massage therapists and most recently was suspended for six games. The NFL, on the other hand, is contesting the suspension and is seeking a more lengthy penalty.
The QB’s punishment was the primary topic of conversation during the offseason. Despite a number of football-related stories, Deshaun Watson’s impending suspension grabbed the spotlight.
Judge Sue L. ultimately decided to suspend the player for six games. Robinson. But many people, including the American Massage Therapy Association, thought the penalty was too light. In response to Robinson’s choice, they made a formal statement.
“Massage therapists shouldn’t ever have to put up with behavior inside a massage session that isn’t in line with therapeutic massage therapy. AMTA is adamant that any client who engages in inappropriate touching should be held legally accountable. Deshaun Watson’s violation of the NFL’s personal-conduct policy was found by the league to have resulted in a relatively light penalty, which is disappointing.
Deshaun Watsоn’s suspensiоn might receive an increase in the number оf games it is suspended fоr. The league wants a suspensiоn that lasts fоrever, but they demand a minimum оf оne year.
Regardless оf the length оf the sentence, it is an unfоrtunate cоincidence that Cleveland is the lоcatiоn оf the American Massage Therapy Assоciatiоn’s annual cоnventiоn.
