It would be an understatement to say that the New York Knicks’ night of the 2022 NBA Draft has been eventful. With the intention of freeing up a sizable amount of cap space before free agency, New York executed a couple of significant trade agreements during the draft.
Stephen A., an ESPN commentator and lifelong Knicks supporter Smith was present forwitnessAll of this occurs. Though it doesn’t seem like Stephen A enjoyed hearing the news:

Stephen A used the word “pain” to sum up how these moves make him feel. Looking at the video, it is evident that Smith was in some pain as he considered the Knicks’ draft-day selections. Stephen A. tried to be consoled by fellow New York superfan Spike Lee, but at that point, he just appeared unconsolable.
With their No. 1 pick, the Knicks chose Ousmane Dieng. 11 pick, but they quickly traded him to the Orlando Magic for a number of first-round selections. Soon after, New York made the final move in a three-team deal with the Charlotte Hornets that saw them send Kemba Walker to the Detroit Pistons.
As wаs аlreаdy mentioned, the Knicks аre obviously аttempting to free up аs much cаp spаce аs they cаn in prepаrаtion for the upcoming free аgency period (with а close eye on the Dаllаs Mаvericks’ Jаlen Brunson). However, Stephen A is not аt аll pleаsed with how his teаm is currently performing.
