According to police documents, the altercation between Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie in Utah occurred at a food co-op in Moab just one day before a worker there was last seen alive.
On Aug. 12, a witness saw the young pair scuffling outside Moonflower Community Cooperative, where Kylen Schulte, 24, worked.
Officials say Schulte and her 38-year-old wife Crystal Turner went missing after being seen the next night, Aug. 13, at Moab pub Woody’s Tavern, complaining to friends about a “scary guy” near where they were camped.
According to recently revealed records obtained by The Salt Lake Tribune, the pair told friends that “if something happened to them, they were murdered.”
Five days later, their bullet-riddled bodies were discovered at their campground near Moab. According to the paperwork, they were both half nude and had gunshot wounds in their backs, sides, and chests.
According to police records, no charges were filed as a result of Petito and Laundrie’s altercation, and the two agreed to spend the night apart to “calm their emotions” — Petito in their converted van, while cops booked Laundrie a hotel room.

While the couple was in the middle of an argument, police stopped them.
Petito and Laundrie were not charged after being pulled up by police.
