Beginning January 19, you can get a free COVID test at home; here’s how to get one.

The White House announced Friday that on January 19, Americans will be able to order free COVID-19 rapid tests at home.

President Joe Biden announced earlier this week that his administration is purchasing 1 billion at-home rapid tests to give away to the general public in the United States for free. Next week, American families will be able to order the first 500 million of those tests.

At first, only four tests will be available for residential addresses. According to a White House fact sheet, the limit is being put in place to “promote broad access” to the free tests.

COVIDTests.gov will be the website where you can order the tests. Officials said that if Americans are unable to order tests online, the White House will provide a phone number.

Tests will be mailed to you once you place your order. Ordered tests are expected to arrive between seven and twelve days after orders are placed, according to officials.

This is а developing story, so more informаtion will be аdded аs it becomes аvаilаble.
