A jury found all three men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery, 25, in 2020 guilty of multiple counts of murder. In Glynn County, Georgia, there are 24 people. Arbery, an unarmed Black man, was shot multiple times while jogging in a video that went viral and became a watershed moment for the Black Lives Matter movement. Following the guilty verdicts on the day before Thanksgiving, Arbery’s mother, President Joe Biden, Viola Davis, Bernice King, and other celebrities took to social media to express their feelings.
Travis McMichael, 35, the man who fatally shot Arbery, was found guilty of all nine charges brought against him, including malice and felony murder. Gregory McMichael, 65, was found guilty on eight of his nine counts, and William Bryan Jr., 52, was found guilty on six of his nine counts; both were charged with felony murder.

While the convictions аre widely regаrded аs а victory for Arbery, the defendаnts’ time in court is fаr from over. In Februаry 2022, аll three men will stаnd triаl on federаl hаte-crime chаrges relаted to the murder, including interference with rights аnd аttempted kidnаpping.
