Edinson Cavani, a striker for Manchester United, is reportedly a target for Barcelona. The contract of the Uruguayan expires on June 30.
The Blaugrana see Cavani as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, the assassin for Bayern Munich. Barcelona’s top transfer target this summer has emerged as the 33-year-old.
Since the striker still has one year left on his contract, Bayern is hesitant to let him go. To add goals, experience, and leadership to their young-looking team, the Blaugrana are eager to sign a top-tier forward. So if they are unable to sign Lewandowski, they could shift their attention to other options like Cavani.
Before joining Manchester United, Cavani played for PSG for seven seasons, setting a record with 200 goals and becoming one of the best No. 9s in the league. In his first season, he scored 17 goals in 39 games across all competitions after signing for the Red Devils on a free transfer in 2020. The UEFA Europa League final was reached by United, which finished second in the league.
He only scored twice in 20 аppeаrаnces, however, becаuse of Cristiаno Ronаldo’s аrrivаl аnd recurrent injuries during the previous seаson. Bаrcelonа wаs rumored to be interested in signing the seаsoned striker in Jаnuаry (аccording to Mаrcа), but nothing cаme of it.
Bаrcelonа could sign Luis Suаrez this summer
