After a terrifying incident, Anne Heche was admitted to the hospital. According to TMZ, an ambulance carried the 53-year-old actress from a car accident in Los Angeles on Friday.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s public information officer told ET that a car crashed into a house in the 1700 block of Walgrove Avenue at 10:55 a.m., but they would not name the driver, the car they were driving, the hospital, or any injuries.
According to the LAPD, the car caught fire, and an ambulance took the driver to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. According to the public information officer, ET, the fire has likely been put out.
Heche was reportedly operating a blue Mini Cooper when she slammed into the garage of an apartment complex, according to witness statements cited by TMZ, the first outlet to report the news.
Witnesses told the outlet that Heche put the car in reverse before accelerating away as residents of the apartment building tried to get her out.
Shortly after, according to the source, Heche crashed into a house nearby, setting off a substantial fire that quickly consumed the building.
Heche sustained burns in the fire, and according to TMZ, she is currently being intubated in the hospital but is expected to survive. The accident’s origin is not yet known.
