CBD is one of those popular wellness topics that has gained a lot of attention in recent years, but like most things that are in style, I was both excited to try it and a little dubious about its effectiveness. Although I’ve occasionally used gummies and bath bombs, I hadn’t used any CBD products frequently enough to truly notice their effects.
Then Evn CBD was delivered to me. Gummies, tinctures, capsules, salves, a sleep powder, and even a few items for pets are among the brand’s line of CBD-infused products. Evn’s products range from 200 milligrams of broad-spectrum CBD in gummy form to more concentrated 500 milligram tinctures. They are made with organically sourced, non-GMO hemp grown on family-owned farms in Wisconsin.
I experimented with Evn’s products for about a week to see how daily use of CBD affected me. I was really putting these products and their anti-stress abilities to the test because I started using it during a week when I was experiencing PMS and looking for an apartment in New York City.
What Effects Can CBD Have?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably heard a lot about CBD but may not yet be completely certain of its effects. Let’s start with a brief definition of CBD: It is an active component of cannabis that is derived from the hemp plant. CBD may help with the symptoms of anxiety, menopause, pain, and depression, according to research.
However, you should consult your doctor before using CBD, particularly if you take any medications as it may interact with them. Some CBD users do experience side effects like fatigue, nausea, and irritability, though many people take it without any problems. The U.S. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises against using CBD in any form if you are pregnant or nursing, and children should not use it either.
Tetrahydrocannabinol, another component of cannabis, which produces the psychoactive high, is not present in CBD, making it a good substitute for those seeking the calming, pain-relieving effects of marijuana without experiencing the high.
My Experience Using Evn’s CBD Products
As I already mentioned, I began my week-long trial of Evn at a time when stress relief was desperately needed. On the first day, I tried one dropper of the oil (16.6 milligrams of CBD) and asked my partner to rub the CBD salve on my back (for scientific reasons, of course). The effects were barely audible but very real. Although using two products at once may have been a bit much for me given that I took a lengthy nap right after work, I felt immediately at ease.
I only used one dropper of the CBD oil the following morning with my cup of coffee. I discovered that I enjoy the taste of this specific tincture because the MCT oil that is added to the CBD gives it a light coconut flavor. In general, I experience what I would refer to as ambient anxiety. I frequently experience that pit-in-the-stomach feeling throughout the day. After using Evn for two days, I started to feel a little more balanced. In situations that would typically make me anxious, like meeting a lot of new people at a networking event for writers, I felt a little more at ease.
I alternated between using the tincture and taking two or three gummies around mid-afternoon/evening during the week that I tried Evn. The Evn’s gummy bears are the most similar to traditional gummy bears I’ve tried, despite the fact that many CBD gummies have that weed-y, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Finally, I tried their sleep powder with cacao flavor, which has a flavor that is very similar to hot chocolate. Even though this sleep aid didn’t seem necessary for me because I don’t typically have trouble falling asleep, it did feel relaxing. With the addition of supplements like melatonin, which helps with insomnia, and L-theanine, which can enhance sleep quality, I could see using it as part of a relaxing bedtime routine.
Using Evn’s line of products, I discovered that while they didn’t magically make me stop worrying (of course), CBD did seem to enhance my capacity to combat stress. I felt like throughout the week I was able to approach circumstances that would ordinarily make me a little more fearful and unbalanced. My mood and focus seemed to balance out slightly, as if I could calm down and think a little more clearly.
